The Alien Baby visits Australia:
Part I: Anne Sydenham

Alien Baby, inspired by the fresh sea air, was even more enthusiastic when he discovered the anchor of Eric the Red. He climbed onto it and briefly considered a sea faring life.
Alien Baby enjoys a beer with his new Aussie friends outside the Assistant Lighthouse Keepers Cottage which was where he passed a most agreeable night.
Before departing from the Cape Otway Lightstation, Alien Baby was only too pleased to express his appreciation for the accommodation, and the wonderful weekend he had experienced, by recording his thoughts in the Guest Book.
Alien Baby, fascinated by the story of the lost airman, looks hopefully for alien artifacts on the coastline.
The old Telegraph Office on the cliff was of special interest to Alien Baby as he thought it a good vantage point for calling home to Alien Baby Planet. Unfortunately, the place was locked up for repairs so he could only look in the windows. This is a scary thing to do, for the place is reputedly haunted, and those who look in the windows occasionally find the ghost looking out at them.
Alien Baby was fascinated by a plaque which commemorates the mysterious disappearance of one Frederick Valentich in 1978. He looked around wildly for other alien babies but he was doomed to disappointment.
The plaque reads:
”THE UNKNOWN
This plaque commemorates the landmark of the mysterious disappearance of FREDERICK VALENTICH on 24 October 1978.
Frederick was flying a Cessna 1823, and at this point he changed direction to south from the lighthouse towards the sea.
Twelve minutes flying south from here at precisely 19:12:28 his radio transmission was cut off and in his last radio contact he explained “that strange aircraft is hovering on top of me again, and it is not an aircraft…….”
After an extensive land and sea search, no trace was ever found of the Cessna VH-DSJ or of FREDERICK VALENTICH.
And so to this day, his disappearance remains a mystery.”
Deep in the Otway forest Alien Baby is delighted to find a spectacular waterfall though it was so dim and shaded at the bottom of the gully.
Alien Baby makes the acquaintance of an Australian Bear. The bear was not impressed, though it hardly fazed Alien Baby.
