  • A Hoke Moseley Detective Thriller

There comes a time in every detective's life when he's had enough.

Having a nervous breakdown, two daughters who want to quit high school, and a very pregnant, unmarried partner tells Hoke Moseley that it's time to simplify his crazy life. Moving away from Miami to manage a small hotel seems like the perfect solution, until a psychopathic career criminal like Troy Louden comes along. He brings with him a ragtag, makeshift gang that includes a little old man, a no-talent artist, and a terribly disfigured stripper -- all of whom get Hoke caught up in a crime of carnage that pulls him back to the job he thought he left behind forever.

"A blend of gripping action and wry off-beat humor." - Washington Post

"There's a lot of bastards out there!" - William Carlos Williams
