SRI LANKA

Capital : Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte

Language : Sinhala, Tamil, English

Major Religion : Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity

Population : 18,552,000

Currency : Sri Lankan rupee

GNP : $13,475 million ($740 per person)

Selected Crops : Green peppers, natural rubber, millet

Selected Industrial Products : Residual fuel oil, cement, kerosene

Rationale For Targeting : What Sri Lanka needs now is a hearty dose of VanderFiction to keep everybody's minds off the awful human rights abuses and political/cultural divisions (mainly caused by the presence of Arthur C. Clarke—Arthur: please, leave the damn country alone). Besides, they have a Hash House, whatever the heck that means, with a website that lists hasher commandments, which include:
1. Thou shalt keep Wednesdays sacred for Hashing as commanded by thy Grand Mattress. On this day thou shalt avoid bonking of secretaries or houseboys, etc. Six days shalt thou labour and on the seventh thou shalt Hash.
2. The Hash Horn shalt start the Hash at precisely 17:30 hours (for those of low birth this means half past five in the evening). Thou shalt be respectful of the Hash Horn and always be on time.
3. Honour thy Joint Grand Mattresses that thy days may be prolonged upon the land and it may go well with thee, for they are always right even when they are wrong.
4. Whilst engaged in Hashing thou shalt avoid all cognitive processes as it is well known that the Hasher is a stupid creature and unable to think.
VanderCorp will offer a $150 reward to anyone who can explain what the @#&!!%$@! "hashing" is...

Fun Fact : The fax number for the Minister of Cultural and Religious Affairs and of Buddha Sasona is (1)431992.
