Brian Stableford is an astute writer, critic and historian of sf. He has published dozens of novels since 1969, most notably The Walking Shadow (1979), a Stapledonesque wonder, as well as the recent Inherit the Earth (1998). He has just published the non-fiction The Dictionary of Science Fiction Places (1999). He also has published two short stories by Barry Bayley in Tales of the Wandering Jew (1991) and The Dedalus Book of Femmes Fatales (1992).
